Aston Martin Vantage V8 2006

BABY BOOM

If this baby Aston doesn’t provoke a following of gloating owners then what will? Let’s just say that good things come to those who…

Wait for it, that grille looks rather familiar and you could hardly mistake those stylish side air vents. This little motor denotes true style and finesse, just look at the curvature of those side windows and the perfect protuberance of the rear wheel arches. The slim-line lights at the back intimately hug the rear quarter panels and the sharp lines across the side panels are like freshly folded linen. Deeply imbedded in the bodywork are those piercing twin headlights protected by a vast oval-shaped casing. The bonnet also gives the illusion that it is extravagantly lengthy and of super car decent.
Sure enough, this V8 Vantage has the goods to deliver; no less than 380 horse power is cooked up in its supreme engine. It will vanish through the 60mph barrier in 4.9 seconds and launches itself to a hairy 175mph at top whack. But all this might does come at a premium, as it will guzzle a gallon of fuel for every 16.2 miles. But then if you can afford an Aston Martin, are you going to quibble about a few extra quid to make sure that every eligible singleton has seen you in it?

Not that you have to be single to drive this car but with only two seats, there’s nowhere to put the kids. We also doubt the other half would be best pleased if you disappeared on an epic Sunday drive, leaving them to walk to the park with two hyper toddlers and a screaming baby.
No contest really when an Aston doesn’t screech and it’s delivered spotlessly clean. The interior boasts hand-finished charm and refined leather and fabric. The two-seater coupe also offers plenty of space as well as sporty low-to-the-floor appeal. Just to remind you of its calibre and breeding the symphony of the engine can be felt in your seat and the ride is enhanced by the near on 50:50 weight distribution. To handle the immense power of the engine are some pretty heavy duty brakes with the assistance of ESP and ABS.

Understandably the one who will be drooling and dribbling when it turns up at your doorstep will be you. But don’t leave it to late to order as you will know what they mean by the baby blues.
