Green Future For Citroen C-Cactus

The penny has finally dropped for manufacturers, if you want beautiful people to drive your cars you need to make them beautiful. Or at least quirky and fun like Citroen’s C-Cactus which is destined to be the platform for the next earth friendly car say French bosses.

The interior design has been simplified and plenty of non-essentials have been slung for weight saving purposes. They’ve also used recycled parts and of course the engine will emit significantly less C02. A nice play on words for a Cactus car would be to have a bi-product of water from a hydrogen fuel cell but word is the engine is likely to be a sub 100g/km petrol unit. Either that or a HYmotion2 diesel–electric hybrid will be used and this option is expected to return almost 100mpg and emit just 78g/km of C02. A 100% electric model has also been considered and this was what the option used on the display model in Paris. As well as having zero emissions it also has a top speed of 70mph and 100 mile range.
