The gothic setting of Beaulieu, the heart-wrenching Edwardian love affair that inspired the Rolls-Royce mascot and the rise of the motor car as a gentleman`s hobby, obsession and political weapon all contrive to make this film an emotional rollercoaster (no pun intended). We can`t wait to see the Silver Ghost depicted as the grand, body-jolting spectacle it would have been in the days before cars became common place. No doubt we will see plenty of aristocratic might, unapologetic rants, intense driving scenes through the wilderness of the New Forest, rampant love making on the heath and a tangle of characters whose lives we will lament, envy and ignite way after the movie shatters them - here`s hoping! |

Not a fire in the pit, the past fury with an underperforming car nor the fact that Williams had not had a win in the last eight years could over shadow Pastor Maldonado`s first F1 victory in Barcelona on Sunday. The Williams team are not under any illusion that they have shaken off their underdog status but this glimmer of sunshine could be forecast a little more often. Malanado`s team mate Bruno Senna (nephew of the late Ayrton Senna) has praised Pastor and the team as a whole. No doubt Bruno wants to see the Williams team return to its days of glory as it was in the 1990s with his uncle behind the wheel. Bruno`s own performance is still a little inconsistent and now with his car damaged in the fire, his opportunity to shine looks fairly bleak. McLaren though, have offered to loan Williams whatever it needs for Monaco on 25th May. |

There is nothing like tradition, splendor and precision to boost a country`s morale. Italy then, has been quick to jump on our bandwagon and have used the occassion of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee to remind us Brits of their own Carabinieri Regiment and their outstanding tournaments on cavalry. Outside Windsor Castle the elite branch of the Italian police force demonstrated their beautifully choreographed battle charges last weekend. These galant yet fearsome moves take inspiration from mediaeval knights and were used to pay tribute to the Queen. Also representing the finest exports of Italy was Ferrari whom like the Carabinieri Regiment are highly ranked as well as being adept at speed, accuracy. |

Pirelli`s Grand Prix Challenge gets you to predict the outcome of Formula One races and by taking part you could win a trip to the 2013 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The sixteen remaining races of the 2012 season have been grouped into four rounds and every round has a winner. At the end of each round everyone starts with a zero point balance but points are accumalative and the overall winner will be the one who has clocked up the most points over each round.

Red Bull`s Sebastian Vettel is close to stringing up a second successive pole in qualifying today at the Spanish Grand Prix. Just as the last 60 minute practice session was drawing in the defending F1 World Champion clocked a lightning 23.168sec lap time, making him the quickest driver in practice at the Circuit de Catalunya. It hasn`t all been smooth sailing for the German, however, but his start from pole and subsequent win in Bahrain appears to be a turning point.

In 2007 the Ferrari Racing Days event organised the largest parade of Ferrari cars, earning themselves a Guinness World Record. Then for five years the thunderous sound of so many V12s in chorus became just a memory. That was until today when plans were announced for an even more spectacular comeback over the weekend of the 14th - 16th September 2012 at Silverstone. The European Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Series will be played out, then there`s F1 Ferraris from a bygone era as well as modern day models in chase. You`ll also see exclusive displays from 599XXs and FXXs. |

Go on, be a kid and get stuck in with a bit of creative therapy - this time you won`t get told off for painting the tyres of your toys and caking your clothes in rainbow colours. Automotive artist, Ian Cook will be running open workshops in Great Peter Street, Westminster on May 16th and 17th between 12pm and 5pm. Both Toyota and Audi will have hybrids on the grid at Le Mans next month but will Toyota`s thirteen year absence and the crash that put it out of the Six Hours Of Spa (the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship) hold them back from winning at Le Sarthe`s famous 24 hour race? The Audi R18 E-tron Quattros have already proved to be technically sound, even in torrential rain but the Toyota TS030 could pull out some surprises when the pressure is on. The manufacturer has sold over 3.5 million Toyota hybrids worldwide, so they clearly are a dab hand so far as this technology is concerned.
