Despite the RENNtech powered Mercedes SLR posting a respectable 1/4 mile time of 10.29 seconds last year, the team knew they could smash this again with some work.
Practice proved perfect and the October 2011 time has since been replaced with a 9.76 second quarter mile record. While achieving this feat the coupe SLR reached a top speed of 140.8mph. Despite having a Mansory Renovatio bodykit the engine is Mercedes` own and thus this motor holds the record as the fastest Mercedes-powered Mercedes-Benz over a quarter mile distance.
