The Cars and Coffee premise is a simple but potent kick to any Saturday morning and the first of the Sarasota meets for 2012 was extra steamy with a husband and wife team pulling up in twin Nissan Skyline R35 GTRs.
It struck me that the guy in this partnership was lucky enough to have three lifetime partners - the soulmate of a Mrs, his ever changing set of wheels and the stuff that goes from innocently sitting in a paper cup to pinging at every corner of your central nervous system. Of course with such a stimulant (otherwise known as Starbucks coffee) every guest at the Suncoast Motorsports centre in Florida is instantly warmed up and chatting with clarity and detail despite it only being 8am! The scenery spurs on this enthusiasm with its forestry of Saleen S7s, Ferrari 355, Classic 911 and modern-day Porsches, a growling Ford GT, elegant Audi R8 V10 and my own genuine right-hand drive Nissan Skyline R33.
